A vintage workwear and military clothing retailer established during the pandemic has signed up for space in an arcade in downtown Hull.
SupplyHaus offers everything from jackets and jeans to shirts and overalls, as well as unusual accessories including enamel mugs, shoe polish and military sewing kits.
The company was started by Zach Roberts and has now opened its doors at Paragon Arcade.
Roberts said: “The business is doing well online and with the store I want to create the feel of a 1940s general store. The hardest part is finding the right stock, but when we get it, we can be sure that it is exclusive.
“The idea came up during lockdown. I worked for a food manufacturer so I wasn’t made redundant or anything like that, but I wasn’t spending that much money so I was able to save up and make the switch to being my own boss.
“Retail and clothing appeal to me and I chose this theme because I like the functionality of the army and although people don’t realize it, you get a lot of modern clothing that are inspired by this sector.”
Charlie Allenby, Director of Development for Paragon Arcade Owners, Allenby Commercial, added: “We continue to breathe new life into Paragon Arcade and this is the addition of another unique company – Zach Sourcing Incredible Apparel that you won’t see anywhere else. here.
“Traders at Paragon Arcade faced the same challenges as everyone else during Covid, but they thrived through a combination of ingenuity and resilience and by coming together.”
