Clothing retailer Gap launches its first gamified NFTs on Tezos


Clothing retail giant Gap has joined the league of non-fungible tokens by launching its gamified NFT collection on Tezos. The company on Wednesday, announcement its plans to unveil a gamified digital experience by allowing its users to purchase a limited-edition Gap hoodie.

According to the official announcement, Gap’s NFT collection will be built on Tezos Blockchain and will be designed by Brandon Sines, an artist who designed the popular frank monkey character.

Clothing retailer Gap gets into NFTs

The US apparel retailer announced on Wednesday that it will unveil its first phase of NFT on Thursday, which will be available for purchase for $9.

To this end, Gap has collaborated with Tezosan open-source blockchain, which “uses a more energy-efficient approach to securing the network, allowing it to operate with minimal power consumption and a low carbon footprint”

Gap’s digital collectibles will launch in four phases: Common, Rare, Epic, and One-of-a-Kind. NFTs categorized as common will go on sale first, with the rest of the categories expected to follow shortly in the next two weeks.

“With this partnership with Gap, the creative cycle has come full circle as it allows me to express the beautiful messages of Frank Ape while collaborating with one of the most classic brands in history… I can’t wait to share the physical and digital pieces we’ve worked with Gap and Frank fans around the world.” As stated by Brandon Sines, the artist behind Gap’s first NFT collection.

Gap’s digital NFT collection also includes a separate “gamified” item for users to unlock the chance to get the “epic NFT”, which includes limited-edition artwork designed by Brandon Sines and a physical hoodie.

With this project, Gap will join other major clothing brands such as Burberry and Louis Vuittonwho have already launched their NFT last year and have gained immense popularity in their attempt to embrace the growing crypto sector.
